The Stewards Club of Dallas was established as a Texas non-profit domestic corporation in 1980. The stated purpose of our non-profit organization is to create, encourage, educate and promote the sport of purebred dogs and the public's knowledge of purebred dogs through professional and efficient ring stewarding at American Kennel Club sanctioned dog shows and events. The Club seeks to achieve this purpose through training and performance as stewards for any and all duly organized, American Kennel Club sanctioned dog shows. Although SCD charges for its services, its fees are set at an amount that allows it to compensate its stewards for any expenses incurred in traveling to shows at which they steward. For the most part, stewards working the shows are doing so on an essentially volunteer basis when expenses are deducted, and are doing so because of their dedication to professional stewarding.

The day-to-day affairs of the SCD are run by a Board of Directors comprised of six members including a President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary and two Directors. Each are elected for a one year term by the membership. While the Board handles daily matters that arise, the vast majority of decisions are voted on by the members at quarterly, regular meetings or at special meetings as needed. The Club operates pursuant to its Constitution and Bylaws which have been revised from time to time by the membership as needed. Feel free to contact any member of our Board for further information about SCD.
